Appropriately named as South Africas garden province, KwaZulu Natal forms the eastern coastline of South Africa from its border with Mozambique to Port Edward. KwaZulu-Natal is the most diverse province in South Africa, offering magnificent mountains, beautiful tropical beaches, and outstanding Big Five game reserves.
KwaZulu-Natal is a subtropical coastal region, with extensive savannas to the east, and the Drakensberg to the west. KwaZulu-Natal is also home to a large number of historic sites and battlegrounds, covering multiple conflicts, most importantly, the Anglo-Boer War and Anglo-Zulu War.
In addition to the two World Heritage Sites (WHS), Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, KwaZulu-Natal offers hot water, tropical wetlands, dramatic mountains, and the remains of some of the greatest battles in South African history.
The coastline of KwaZulu Natal is an important vacation spot for domestic and international tourists, who flock to the warm waters and sandy beaches of this beautiful South African province. KwaZulu-Natal extends from a lush, subtropical East Coast, lapped by the Indian Ocean, to sweeping grasslands to the East, and majestic Drakensberg mountain ranges to the West.
